Belimo safety actuators for fire dampers automatically move to their safety position in case of fire and keep dampers closed during the fire. They offer the best protection against the spread of fire and smoke through ducts.

In case of fire, motorised fire dampers are moved to the safety position (closed) using the spring energy of the fire damper actuator if:

  • The operating temperature is exceeded in the duct or in the environment,

  • A smoke detector is triggered,

  • The supply voltage fails,

  • The ventilation system is shutdown,

  • The fire alarm system responds.

The Safety Position Lock™ function keeps the motorised fire dampers in the safety position in case of fire.
