Fiber Optic Cables
Corning's invention of the first low-loss optical fiber ignited the critical spark that began a communications revolution that forever changed the world. Today, there are more than 5 billion kilometers of fiber installed around the globe, and Corning continues to lead the industry in product quality and innovation.

Fiber Optic Cables by Environment
The first consideration in choosing a fiber optic cable is the environment that you will be using it in. Corning has fiber optic cables for outdoor, indoor/outdoor, and indoor environments in a variety of types and applications.
Indoor/Outdoor Aerial Cables
Products
Indoor/Outdoor Aerial Cables
Corning indoor/outdoor 4.1 mm round drop cable is a robust and flexible cable that provides durability and reliability in the drop segment of the network. The cable is designed for short-span, self-supporting aerial installations as well as to be installed on facades, poles, and ducts in FTTH deployments. The outer jacket is UV-stablized PE and FRNC rated which enable the cable to be installed outdoors and indoors. The inner jacket is comprised of a protective buffer made of the flame-retardant blend of high strength and crush resistant materials.
Nominal Outer Diameter: 4.1 mm
Indoor/Outdoor Duct Cables
Products
Duct Cable
Corning gel-free MPC (multi-purpose cable) stranded loose tube cables are flame-retardant, indoor/outdoor cables designed for interbuilding and intrabuilding backbones in duct and riser applications. The innovative dry, gel-free design with water -blocking technology eliminates the need for traditional flooding compound, providing more efficient and craft-friendly cable preparation.
Duct Cable
Corning LANscape® multipurpose cables can be deployed both indoor and outdoor for campus and building backbone (riser) cabling as well as for the cabling, between floor distributors.
The tight-buffered construction facilitates easier termination for low-fiber-count applications in the local area network (LAN) and eliminates need for fan-out kits.

Corning® MPC (multipurpose cable) tight-buffered cables are flame-retardant, indoor/outdoor cables designed for interbuilding and intrabuilding backbones in duct and riser applications. The tight-buffered construction facilitates easier termination for low-fibre-count applications in the local area network (LAN) and eliminates need for fan-out kits. These cables are designed for installation in conduits, ducts and in-house.
Duct Cables
Corning MPC (multipurpose cable) loose tube cables are flame-retardant, indoor/outdoor cables designed for interbuilding and intrabuilding backbones; with a special focus on usage in tunnels and underground transportation systems.
The loose tube cable construction, by isolating the fibres from installations and environmental rigors, provides stable and highly reliable transmission parameters. The buffer tubes and fibres in each tube are color coded for quick and easy identification.
The SZ-stranded construction further reduces installation and environmental influences on the transmission parameters and allows mid-span access. These cables are designed for installation in conduits, ducts and in-house.

Duct Cables
Corning flame retandant MiniXtend® cables are fibre optic stranded loose tube fully dielectric indoor/outdoor cables typically used when limited space is available. The buffer tubes and fibre in each tube are colour -coded for quick and easy identification. MiniXtend are available with Corning Single Mode Fibre SMF 28e® ULTRA (G.652.D and G.657.A1). These flame retardant cables are designed with increased resistance against moisture or chemicals and with additional flame retardant features to enable indoor/outdoor deployments along ducts or pipelines. They are designed to resist fires up to given standards.

Corning® ActiFi® Composite Class 3 Limited Power Cables provide the ultimate solution for indoor / outdoor remote powering of distributed antenna systems, optical networks, small cells, Wi-Fi, surveillance cameras and other devices at the edge of the network. Corning's ActiFi® cables also provide a time- and cost saving solution for installations requiring remotely powered equipment. By integrating linear laid copper and tight buffered fibre in one cable, ActiFi® cables eliminate the need to install separate power and fibre cables. This saves installation time, labour costs and duct or tray space. When installing this cable in duct, the cable end should be sealed to prevent water ingression from the end of the cable.
Duct Cables
Corning’s Indoor/Outdoor MiniXtend® Ribbon Cable-200 Flow is designed for microduct applications. Although typically installed via jetting, the cable can also be pulled into conduits at the rated loads specified, allowing for a myriad of backbone duct applications. The cable construction leverages Corning’s Flow Ribbon Technology in a centralized design in order to minimize cable diameter, allowing for smaller duct applications. The microducts can be placed in new construction pathways or be used to “override” existing cables to avoid the cost of new pathway construction.
Indoor/Outdoor Direct Buried Cables
Products
Direct Buried Cables
The central tube cable construction, by isolating the fibres from installations and environmental rigors, provides stable and highly reliable transmission parameters. The fibres in are color coded for quick, easy identification. Based on a central buffer tube cable construction, is very compact, light and flexible, and ideal for connections requiring a moderate fibre count. These cables are designed for installation in conduits, ducts and in-house.
Direct Buried Cables
Corning Oil Resistant loose tube, triple-jacket, cables with polyamide overcoat are designed for indoor / outdoor use where resistance against hydrocarbons such as oil and gas as well as resistance against termites is required.
By using polyamide instead of a heavy lead sheath, these cables are easier to handle and install. Therefore, they are less hazardous for personal health and for the environment.
Direct Buried Cables
FREEDM™ gel -free MPC (Multipurpose Cables) can be deployed both indoor and outdoor for campus backbone and building backbone (riser) cabling as well as for the cabling between floor distributors. The innovative dry, gel-free design with water-blocking technology eliminates the need for traditional flooding compound, providing more efficient and craft-friendly cable preparation. The cables can be installed in conduits, ducts and be buried directly in the ground. The SZ stranded construction further reduces installation and environmental influences on the transmission parameters and allows mid-span access.
